Oh that Moon.
And look at all those stars!
From Lesbian Connection review July/August 2006
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the New Mexico Women's GuestHouse & Retreat at Outland, and -- to use a good ol' Southern expression -- I couldn't brag on them enough!! The warm, comfortable, women-built adobe caitas are perfect for short or long stays, perfect for writing, meditation, romance, healing, R&R, or whatever your personal needs might be that could be met in this beautiful, secluded mountain land.
The accomodations there were excellent. The casitas have comfortable beds, hot running water, composting toilets, and fully-equipped kitchenettes stocked with a wonderful variety of packaged organic and gourmet foods and beverages. The desks in each bedroom were furnished with paper, pencils, pens and scissors; and there were flashlights, binoculars, and whatrever else one might need. It's not The Ritz, but definitely sumptuous rustic comfort. Up at the Main House there's a huge library of women's words, a videop player, plenty of space to sit and visit (or not), large kitchen area with all the fittings, and more frood, with lots of fresh organic produce.
I'd heard about this land for many years (yes, it's part of our Lesbian herstory), and finally getting the opportunity to visit was wonderful!
But the greatest treat was the time I got to spend with Jae and Karin, gracious hostesses, beautiful souls. They had all kinds of interesting ideas of what they could do with/for/by women out there.
