This is the most nourishing, healing, and inspiring environment. The land is awesome and the casitas perfect.

I could sleep again.

I hiked for three days and only began to explore this marvelous land.

Dear Jae,

Just looked into your new website. It is great - congratulations!
I remember the times when I stayed with you and Karin on the land.

I miss this land so much and the lovely casitas! You know I  lost my heart to Bluebird but I also loved my stay in Mi Casita - what a huge little coy place to stay!

They look even nicer now - so comfortable and unique. I liked the big windows most - it is as if you sleep right under the sky. I never slept so well in my life and saw so many beautiful stars.

And the tiger salamander that showed itself to me one day - what a sight! I will never forget what the land was like when it snowed and the thunderstorms raged over it. I felt safe but somehow lifted and I could have watched this light-show from heaven for a lifetime.

The clouds are wonderful and there are so many incredibly different shades of light you can see during a day. Do you remeber the huge double rain bow we saw one morning? Oh my, I am still dreaming of it.

And the hot tub was my best friend, so relaxing, especially after an adventurous day of hiking in the arroyos or climbing up the mesas. I could sit up there forever listening to the river and viewing the clouds.

I still have some red clay with me. I can feel its healing power and love to touch it whenever the land is calling me.

I am sure I will be with you again very soon -  I cannot wait to be back in my favourite wild place in the world!

By the way, any woman interested in hearing more about Women's Retreat can contact me. I can sure recommend to visit your place! Just pass on my email address, if you like. Take good care of yourself and all the best.

All my love to you! Your friend, soul sister and lover of wild things --

Dear Jae and Karin,
I am home again. I have a calmness and an absence of the unrest I have been struggling with for months.

You will hear from me again shortly. I am singing your praises to every woman I meet.  Already have a few who want to come out as a group and visit.

Thank you both for being so instrumental in what feels like a major shift in my life.

Warmly,

Lia

We’re a new couple.

What a place for lovers!

Beautiful, Beautiful & More Beautiful.

I feel myself healing.

We’ll be back,

and for a much longer stay.

Oh that Moon.

And look at all those stars!

From Lesbian Connection review July/August 2006

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the New Mexico Women's GuestHouse & Retreat at Outland, and -- to use a good ol' Southern expression -- I couldn't brag on them enough!!  The warm, comfortable, women-built adobe caitas are perfect for short or long stays, perfect for writing, meditation, romance, healing, R&R, or whatever your personal needs might be that could be met in this beautiful, secluded mountain land.

The accomodations there were excellent.  The casitas have comfortable beds, hot running water, composting toilets, and fully-equipped kitchenettes stocked with a wonderful variety of packaged organic and gourmet foods and beverages. The desks in each bedroom were furnished with paper, pencils, pens and scissors; and there were flashlights, binoculars, and whatrever else one might need.  It's not The Ritz, but definitely sumptuous rustic comfort.  Up at the Main House there's a huge library of women's words, a videop player, plenty of space to sit and visit (or not), large kitchen area with all the fittings, and more frood, with lots of fresh organic produce.

I'd heard about this land for many years (yes, it's part of our Lesbian herstory), and finally getting the opportunity to visit was wonderful!

But the greatest treat was the time I got to spend with Jae and Karin, gracious hostesses, beautiful souls.  They had all kinds of interesting ideas of what they could do with/for/by women out there.
